<p><span style="color: #000000;">Working as a member of an instructor team the AMI provides medical instruction to Special Operations Forces from across DOD, principally at the JSOMTC facilities on Fort Bragg, NC. The AMI provides advanced instruction across the entire range of combat and clinical medical disciplines. Instructors work alongside and in cooperation with military and government civilian instructors to provide training in accordance with existing Programs of Instruction (POIs). AMIs may be required to supervise other instructors or to work alone. The AMI possesses extensive background in combat related medical capabilities and techniques and is able to integrate lessons learned from field combat experience into instruction for students. The AMI may contribute to instructional improvement processes including POI review, quality review, development and implementation of evaluation tools, and development and implementation of practical exercises and scenarios. The AMI will participate in government mandated continuing education and skills training related both to medical skills related to program requirements and to instructional techniques and procedures. This position may require some travel to participate in mobile training teams. The AMI may be required to work overtime, weekends and nights in order to meet emerging training requirements.</span></p>

<p><strong>Job summary:</strong></p>
<p>Vighter Medical Group is recruiting former SF Medics (18D) and/or Independent Duty Corpsmen who have completed SOCM/SFMS for an Emergency Medical Support contract. This is a full time (W-2) position providing medical support services to a highly trained unit. The employee will be subject to 90 minute recall to Quantico, VA 24/7/365 (unless on pre-approved vacation or sick leave) and will be required to undergo an extensive background check in order to be granted a DOJ Top Secret security clearance.</p>
<p><strong>Principle Accountabilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provides Health care  services</li>
<li>Examines patients, performs physical exams, and compiles medical data, including health history</li>
<li>Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, management of infection, EKG’s, etc.</li>
<li>Renders direct patient care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, prescribing pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment of health problems, health promotion, occupational care and preventative care.</li>
<li>Applies scientific knowledge to human treatment responses to actual or potential health problems</li>
<li>Documents and maintains patient records of services including proper preparation of required occupational medicine records</li>
<li>Participates in employee training and orientation programs as required</li>
<li>Plans and prepares for medical evacuation missions</li>
<li>Coordinates with operational mission planners for the safe evacuation of the patients from the originating mission to the destination facility.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Knowledge &amp; Skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>Special Forces Medical Sergeant (18D) course qualification required.</strong></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>Dive Medical Technician qualification required.</strong></span></li>
<li>Current National EMT-P, ACLS, ATLS, and PHTLS Certification required.  Certification must be current with all applicable education/recertification requirements completed.</li>
<li>Extensive experience dealing with life-saving procedures is required</li>
<li>Extensive experience conducting routine and emergency life-saving treatment in an austere environment is required.</li>
<li>Previous work experience within foreign countries in a high threat environment.</li>
<li>Possess a current US Passport or the ability to obtain before assignment.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Experience &amp; Education:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent is required.</li>
<li>Must have four (4) years minimum experience as an EMT/P and demonstrated competence in primary healthcare and pre-hospital emergency care.</li>
<li>Special Operations Medical Sergeant (18D30) MOS qualified preferred.</li>
<li>Must have at least two (2) years certification (current) in Advanced Life Support (ALS).</li>
<li>Must have knowledge of advanced cardiology, to include operation of defibulatory equipment, accurate reading and diagnosis of cardiac strips, and ACLS algorithms with appropriate drug treatment protocol.</li>
<li>Must be knowledgeable in Advanced Trauma Care, to include immediate assessment and treatment of ANY traumatic life threatening injury, advanced airway management (Intubations, Surgical Cricothyrotomy), advanced invasive procedures (Needle Decompression, Chest Tube Thoracotomy), advanced Circulatory support (Venous access through cut down procedures, blood typing and cross match, blood transfusion protocols).</li>
<li>Must have knowledge of Advanced Diagnosis and Treatment of illnesses to include, but not limited to, the following systems cardiac, pulmonary, dermatology, musculoskeletal, neurological, endocrine, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary.</li>
<li>Must be knowledgeable of wound repair, to include anesthesia, nerve blocks, and suturing with proper aseptic technique.</li>
<li>Must have knowledge of general sick call procedures.</li>
<li>Must have a general knowledge of radiological (basic) analysis.</li>
<li>Must have knowledge of material inventory principles.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Physical Requirements/Working Environment:</strong></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">Three (3) years of general experience and two (2) years of experience in a program office or similar organization.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"> </span><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000000;">Specialized Knowledge and Skills:  </span></span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Expert knowledge and training in communications and marketing, and experience developing and executing integrated communication, public awareness, and outreach plans for bioengineering and medical programs, to include multi-faceted media campaigns, is required.  Display the ability to perform the following:</span></p>
<ol>
<li><span style="color: #000000; font-size: small;">Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with media representatives, public affairs personnel of other agencies, the bio-defense community, regulatory and scientific communities, and special interest groups</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000; font-size: small;">Ensure all messages are scientifically accurate and aligned with, and in support of, the program mission and vision, as well as all applicable national bio-defense military strategies</span></li>
</ol>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000000;">Education:</span></span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Successful completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a major in Communications, Marketing, English, or a related discipline, is required.  No DAU certification is required.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000; font-size: medium;"> </span><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000000;">Physical Requirements/Working Environment:</span></span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day and sit for up to three (3) hours per day.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depths.</span></li>

<p><span style="color: #000000;"> </span><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000000;">Education:</span></span></strong></p>
